Premises Liability

Premises Liability involves the responsibility of property owners to maintain safe conditions for people entering onto their property. These types of cases arise when someone is injured in an accident that occurs as a result of unsafe conditions or negligent maintenance on property that was not their own. These “slip and fall” accidents can occur anywhere on the premises – on a sidewalk, a stairway, a slippery floor – and can result in minor or serious injury. As a result, the injured person may incur “damages” such as medical expenses, lost wages, physical impairment or disability, pain and suffering and so on. It is the victim’s responsibility to prove that the owner’s negligence was the cause of the accident in order to have a valid claim for recovery of damages.
